Saigon Co.op obtained vnd 30,000 billion in 2017
Talking to VnExpress, Mr Do Quoc Huy, leader of the Sai Gon Union of Trading Co-operatives (Saigon Co.op) highlighted the smoothness in the company’s business operations during 2017 with an extensive network spreading across provinces and cities.
Accordingly, the company gained VND 30,000 billion for the whole year, increasing by 7% compared to 2016 and achieved a profit equalling 100% of the plan. In particular, the Co.opextra model observed the highest growth rate (35%), followed by Co.opfood (20%) and Co.opmart supermarkets (10-12%).
“In order to boost business activities, this year, we intend to open additional hypermarkets, 20 Co.opmart supermarkets and 100 Co.opfood stores nationwide. Notably, this year will mark the launch of our online sales for consumer’s greater convenience. Furthermore, there will be a chain of high-end stores, which offered carefully selected products,” said, Mr Huy.
In parallel to promoting the network, the unit strengthened its cooperation with the Vietnam Women’s Union to open 68 Co.op stores in Binh Chanh, Cu Chi and Hoc Mon districts. In 2018, the two organizations will build new stores under the “Affiliated Co.op Smile” model.
